Those fond of virgin beaches should head south of Peñíscola, where they will find some stone and gravel coves, with clear water, excellent for diving and fishing. The most attractive spot is under the Badum tower, a spot where several sweet water springs emerge from the bottom of the sea. The bushes, and aromatic plants increase the beauty of this heavenly landscape of small coves at the feet of the impressing and precipitous Sierra de Irta. The Baix Maestrat is the top north-east district of the Castellón province, and therefore of Valencia. Located within the Sistema Ibérico mountain range, between Les Coves and the Sénia, it is mountainous at the north and west and flat near the coast. |
